History & Leadership
The 2nd Future Worlds Symposium was held in 2019 at the Sacramento Public Library with the opening keynote by Michael Wilkening, Special Advisor on Innovation & Digital Services, Office of Governor and the technical keynote by Mighael Botha, CTA, N America, Software AG. The successful event included innovative speakers and panels covering topics such as Digital Inclusion, Innovation in Government, education and Data Storytelling.
The 1st Future Worlds Symposium, fire-starter event, was held two years ago on Aug 2nd at Sacramento City Hall, City Council Chambers, with great success – we had an awesome, inspiring Keynote from Dr Vint Cerf, known as a “Father of the Internet,” support and partnership of City of Sacramento, Welcome by City of Sacramento Mayor, Darrell Steinberg and Q&A by Chief Innovation Officer, Louis Stewart.
We are looking forward to a very collaborative event with 3 ACM Chapters co-operating to develop the theme:
- ACM Sacramento Chapter (Professionals Chapter)
- Sac State ACM Chapter (one of the very oldest Student Chapters nationwide)
- Los Rios Community College District Student Chapter (recently started last year, spanning 4 colleges – Sacramento City College, Consumnes River College, American River College and Folsom Lake College)

We look forward to hearing back from you and to seeing you at the 5th Annual Future Worlds Symposium!
